Final Fantasy VIII Boost GF
I saw one discussion on this already and no one has been able to answer this question. I have the default buttons set up for my controls on the keyboard. Which button do I have to hold down to start the GF Boost and which button do I have to tap repeatedly. I have googled this and searched all steam forums to no avail. Some people are saying that they can't boost past 130 but those people won't even answer me and tell me what buttons I need to push. Please can someone help?

Hold down J when you summon a GF and then press the button that appears on the screen repeatedly.

The game's ingame tutorials should tell you the buttons required, they adapt to the settings when you change them.

You can boost past 130. Up to 250 but for some summons you're gonna need to use a turbo controller (or whatever keymapping software to do the same with a keyboard). Some GFs can't be boosted.

Out of curiosity, have you done it on the Steam release or are you just saying that because that's how it is on the PSX version? A lot of people ae having trouble actually getting it over 130 because it's not reading the inputs correctly.

I can attest to that. I haven't tried it on a keyboard but on my 360 controller it seems like only ever 2nd or 3rd press actually counts towards the boost. I don't usually boost anyway since it is a pain though.

You dont hold down the button, you keep pressing it over and over again.

Only real way to get the Boost maxed is by using a Turbo controller

Actually, you hold down the first button so that boost can be seen and used.
The boost button is a different button, and that IS pressed over and over.

The main issue is that this version isn't reading every individual press correctly. Some people are getting better results pressing it slowly than spamming it =/ (and no, they aren't hitting it when the cross appears...)

I was wondering this myself, glad it seems to have been answered. Time to test it out.
