Anyone ever killed X-ATM092?

I've only managed to do it once to be honest, and it wasn't really that easy. However you'll really rise the ranks when you get into Seed if you have killed it.
They totally remove the FMV for when you run into the boat to escape with just walking into the boat instead though, but it's a really nice challenge.
My solution is a lightning elemental junctioned Squall or Zell, or possibly both. A dual casting Selphie (casting Thundara/Thundaga), and then spam the limit breaks with Squall and Zell. Both should obviously have the Strength stat juncitoned with something like Tornado.
Really fun challenge, you could possibly get overleveled if you aim for it and completely stomp it though.

For those who don't know/remember, X-ATM092 is the robot spider chasing you in Dollet.

just farm cards with the trading rule diff and get abyss worms for tornados and other cards for thundagas to junction to strength and elem atk

It's not possible to kill it more than once in a playthrough.

There's a slow but very effective method to boost your starting party for this fight - while you're patrolling Dollet with Seifer, kill off Squall and Zell and go on a killing spree with Seifer. By the time you get Seifer up to level 60+, the G-Soldiers will have gone from Fire/Thunder/Blizzard/Cure to Fira/etc to Firaga/etc - a grand opportunity to draw a ton of advanced spells. You'll also be able to level up all three of your GFs thus far to 100, learn a ton of abilities and enough potions, phoenix downs and so on to keep you going for ages. If you want to risk it, you can even scout around the stairs to the communication tower and take out Anacondaurs (slightly hazardous at higher levels) in the hope of rare Dragon Skin or Dragon Fang drops.

Once you hit the tower, Seifer goes away and Selphie pops up and your team are all low level again - as are all the monsters - but you're now packing some lethal one-hit-kill GFs and a ton of advanced spells. X-ATM092 doesn't have a prayer.

From memory.... If you do it the normal way and let Quistis shoot it on the beach, there's a crater there later and a NPC talking about it. I was wondering if the FF8 programmers had an alternative beach and NPC in case you defeated crabby??

ok im thinking your talking on the first mission when u meet zell. on the chase away from him after the bridge i think the small pub if u duck in there and hide. he passes right pass you. then when u continue you dont get the video with her shooting it but you see you school mates watching the remains of it being destroyed. thats all i know from playing the game back in the day when it was my only game. ^_^.

Same, i wish i could think of things i have not done in this game lol. I've slayed 7 and 8 totally to the point that i just can't replay them anymore, recently i did the mod runthrough for both and it was pretty awesome. the mod selection for 7 is way better. Was thinking about doing a 9 runthough on emulator to kick osmoses ass again lol
