A new version of Roses and Wine is here.

This should be the last update. This is a new torrent (and we ask that the old one not be linked anymore). This fixes all known/reproducible bugs, but here's a list of changes anyway.

Changes:

• In-game volume control fixed for Windowed mode - press F1 while playing. This cannot be fixed in fullscreen. (DLPB)
  
• External file volume control added - there will be a file called "vol=100" in your ff8 folder. Rename it to whatever volume you want the music to play at. (DLPB)
  
• Roses and Wine no longer minimizes or loses focus when started. (DLPB)
  
• It is now safe to install over previous RaW installations. (DLPB)
  
• The installer now requires "Original Soundtrack" to be checked. (DLPB)
  
• The installer now requests admin privileges by default. (DLPB)
  
• The launcher now has its own icon. (Covarr)
  
• A bunch of minor technical changes in how the DLL is injected. You probably won't notice the difference, but it should be more reliable. (Covarr)
  
• In case of a bad installation, the launcher will no longer open itself dozens of times, instead erroring out and explaining to the user how to fix it. (Covarr)

I have been trying to install roses and wine for a few hours. I keep getting the error that the FF8 Executable is not found. I have been trying to put it in the install folder in steamapps. Anyone have a solution? I've run it in administrator mode too.

You are going to have to manually input the install location of were FFVIII is when RAW asks you to select the install location. Then when it what kind of install you want select all and professional so all the songs are installed. Once that is done a folder called RAW should be in your FFVIII directory, inside there should be a folder called global and a ll the music files, copy and paste the files into the data/ music folder.

not to sound redundant also make sure your antivirus isn't tryna delete files for "your safety"

Got me a weird situation where the sound works on my PC, but not on my Steam Deck, and because my PC is a potato I saw a lot of jitters in the framerate (plus I want to be able to play this offline). Anyone know if this mod works on Steam Deck too?

This happens to me as well. Roses and Wine works great on PC, but I'd prefer to play on my Steam Deck.

Default audio works on steam deck, but when I install Roses and Wine the music disappears. The menu sounds and things still work, but no music. I've been playing around with ProtonTricks mentioned in some other posts (installing directmusic/dsound), but i can't get it to work.

Has anyone else had this happen to them and know a fix?

edit: nvm i just went with the other audio mod and it's fine.
