You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right. That's why they made magic boost feature. Rather than cheat it's just time saver. You could have done this without it but waste too much time, here you can have it all at once. It was the only reason why I stopped playing VIII before.

It is my favourite game in the Final Fantasy series, the draw and junction system is great.
You can't have played more than the early game if you think "just drawing magic spells" is all the battle system involves.

It's Tetsuya Nomura's little Gackt Fantasy wet dream in video game form... meanwhile they forgot to actually play-test the thing, so much so that they had to advertise the fact that you can "cheat" in this version.

The ONLY single redeeming quality about this game is the score, which is great in-spite of everything else. Just because you played it when you were 10 years old doesn't mean everyone else should as well. If someone wants to watch or suggest a review, why is that a problem?

the game wasa released 14 years ago. and was play tested. on re-release this year, as with FFVII last year, they have given players the option of cheating. Why? Because in the 14 years since the original release of this title, video gamers have become ungrateful, spoiled little ♥♥♥♥♥. £9.99 is a fair price for me to re-live part of my childhood. I dont have to worry about getting work arounds to have it startup on windows 8. I may add a couple of mods, but really, in truth... this is for me to just get back to where my gaming obsession started. Honestly... no one on earth cares about any of your opinions. If they are bad, I certainly don't care. You have little to offer to any conversation with someone who likes the game. If you have good opinions, then others who appreciate the game will be happy to listen. But seriously, stop this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Its so childish and pathetic.Very few of you who are critisizing this game can actually formulate an argument that makes sense.

But after that, what score are you talking about? how can its only redeeming quality be its score? Isn't a score supposed to put a numerical value out of 10, put to a game as a whole? So what you are saying is the only redeeming part of this game... is the game? Way to go

Recently re-played this on my Playstation. And it was a horrible experience..just as how I remembered. Story was ok, but I hated the switch to the three alternate characters. Drawing magic was annoying. But you don't have to do it all the time. Usually you'll have enough in no time and can then use it non-stop. There are so many things that annoy me about FF8 :S

I'd rather have FF7. 10 was fun too. 9 has some fond memories so will try that again soon. But 8 is one to stay away from. Just like 10-2 and newer.

For the record, Magic Boost doesnt give you EVERY Single Magic, it only gives you a couple not the whole list.

Spoony's review while funny, isn't entirely serious. You don't have to draw a lot of magic at all, and the card game is really fun if you decide to go after it.

I recon your average steam user, much like gamers in general, are likley to be MUCH older.

In fact I think pretty much every study actually done on the subject, ever, has concluded the average gamer to be around 25-30. Give or take.

I actually remember playing both FFVII and FFVIII back then. Never had a console so those were my first encounters with japanese console type rpg, and I never quite get the gameplay, as I found it quite repetitive, but enjoy a lot the character backgrounds and history... FFVII was, IMHO, better, maybe for the low blow in the middle of the plot... you know what im talking about...
