Is "Invalid email or password." normal for new accounts?

I created an SE account and got both the confirmation instructions and account registration completed emails, but when I go to log in and play, it tells me the email/password is invalid. I figure I may have entered the password wrong (twice) during account creation. So I go to recover the account and it tells me that the email isn't associated with an account. Is this normal? How long does it take to validate an account and actually play? It's been over an hour since I got the account creation completed email...

Check your confirmation emails to make sure you are doing the info correctly.
Try logging in on the main website to see if it works, if it does then the launcher login server is having issues.

You may have to contact SE to resolve ur account issue.

The website does the same thing. I try to log in and it tells me its invalid; I try to create a new account with the same email and it tells me an account is already associated with that email.

try to follow the confirmation email again maybe? it may have the email registered but not confirmed.

Tried creating a new topic, but Steam won't let me, so I'll just post my question here since it's related to SE accounts. Don't mean to hijack the thread or anything.

I just gifted this game to my little brother and helped him set up a Square Enix account in order to play. Everything went okay, but there was no field to enter a password on the registration form.

So my question is: how the heck can he log back to his Square Enix account via the website with just the e-mail?

I should also mention that the game is working fine and seems to automatically log in.

When I try to re-confirm (send another confirmation email), it tells me the email is already confirmed.

And now it randomly decides to just work. I exited the game launcher and relaunched it from Steam and it works. So apparently it just took several hours or something. I literally did the exact same thing minutes prior and it still didn't work. o.O
