Disabling Music

As with many RPGs I like to turn down the ingame music and blast my own music but since I am playing on my PC I can't really do that. Any tips on how to disable the ingame sound?

If you install wine and roses mod. Just make a .ogg with Audacity that has no sound, and replace all of them with the new file. Or replace them with a none looping .ogg, and that will prevent the music from playing aswell. Make a backup folder with all the original music so that you can revert it faster. As far as the effects sounds I can't help you there. Just the music part.

Or get the volume update for Roses and Wine and rename vol=80 to vol=0, should work.

OR minamize, go into your sound settings, open volume mixer and scroll to where you can see FF VIII, move the slider down. All other audio will continue to be heard except the in game. Profit.

Im in a similar position but just want to remove the music not the sound effects (which can be controlled form the ingame config) without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the game
