Timber Mission Button Mapping
Going into the Timber mission, and thoroughly sick of trying to button mash my way through Zell's limit break, I mapped the buttons on my logitech controller to match the numbers for the codes. It kept failing me in the practice codes, until I realised the game was wrong, and my controller with the numbers one through four on the buttons was right. Reversing buttons one and three that I see on screen means I can finally enter the codes correctly.

Still not sure what to do about Zell's limit break though.

Well what I did was went into Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Devices and Printers, right clicked my controller, went to Game controller settings, hit Properties, found out which buttons corresponded to which lights, wrote it in a notepad file, then kept the file open while doing the train mission. I'd read Rinoa's 4 buttons, then look at my list and press what matched. It was super impractical but... It got me through it in less than 5 minutes.

Completely off topic and irrelevant to this thread, I made 1000 kills. And to all a good night!!

I use the keyboard.
Using a keyboard in this game just facilitates everything. There's button mapping for the keyboard and all. If you are having problems, try a keyboard for that section, even if you dislike it, it's better than random guesswork. Or maybe that's just my way of thinking.

This really annoyed me. I failed entering codes so many times because the button mappings did not match what I actually had set. I don't understand how they can screw that up so badly.
