Reshade not working

I've installed ReShade 6.1.1 with OpenGL latched to my FF8_EN.exe, but I can't seem to get the overlay to come up, or even tell if ReShade is running at all. Home button does nothing, which is the "new" default mapping.
I tried rebinding it to SHIFT+F2 but that just makes the word "ASSIST" pop up in the bottom right hand corner of the screen...
Anyone else run into this / know a solution?
