is it too late for me to get lionheart on disc 1?(minor spoilers)

I am currently at deling city and my next task is the tomb of the unknown king which i haven't proceeded with because the game guide i followed told me that it was "very advisable" to get mug from diabolos(i like that name more than diablos)

and i was running around like crazy during the second dream sequence trying to find (probably going to butcher the word here) elastoids? which you can draw meltdowns from and get laser cannons from with mug. but they never appeared and i was running mad low on items so i decided to continue.

i think i can still get adamantites since i can visit timber and i'm pretty sure i can go back the forest of the second dream sequence to fight grendels but what about pulse ammo am i too late for that and if so when can i get it again?

Farm Elnoyle cards and turn them into Energy Crystals which you can then refine into pulse ammo.

I can't remember if it's possible, but can you get a train back to Timber then back to Balamb? If you can, play Trepie #1 in Balamb Garden cafeteria.

If not, try the man in black in Deling City.

the train to balamb is unavailable, oh well guess i'll go get the first materials and wait for disc 2 :)

The problem here is the leveling.

As you may or may not know, this game uses an interesting leveling mechanic -- the enemy levels increase according to your party's average level. As such, items from battle drops and Mugging monsters vary at certain level thresholds (1-19, 20-29, 30-100). Grendels only drop Dragon Fangs at the first level threshold (low levels, 1-19). If you're at Deling City already, try looking for some guys around the Shopping Arcade that, if memory serves, hold Lv5 Monster Cards -- if they do, you can probably get the Elnoyle Cards you need from them.

As for the Adamantines, get them LAST. Adamantoises only drop Adamantines at the third level threshold (after hitting lv30), which means if you don't have them already, you'll NEED to get them AFTER you collect the Dragon Fangs first, at the very least.

thats weird i got 4 dragon fangs, skin and that other item from grendel between 20 and 28 and the same with adamantite, i also managed to get whisper and other blue magic between 20 to 28.

maybe the ps1 version differs from the steam version?

Nah, they're both the same in this respect. You can get Dragon Skins, Dragon Fins or Dragon Fangs from Grendels even at their lowest level.

In fact, you can only get all 3 at the lower levels. Level 20-29, you can only get Dragon Fins, Dragon Fangs or Fury Fragments. Level 30-100 it's Dragon Fins or Fury Fragments.

I remember I got materials to make it near galbadia garden in the forest where you get the laguna flashback farm those blue dragons that are actualy greenish if I remember corectly. Rest of the materials arent that hard to get
