Go to the junction menu, select GF then choose one or both for Squall (you should have Quezecotl and Shiva), then it should automatically go to the screen where you choose abilities for your character. From the start, you should be able to choose 3 out of the following:
GF (Summons a GF)
Magic (Allows you to cast magic you have stocked)
Draw (Allows you to take magic from enemies or draw points to add to your stock)
Item (Allows you to use items)
FF8 isn't a bad game, don't take me for down playing it. The game is just made in WTF style in most every area. This REALLY gets annoying to high hell in the final part of the game where you need to unlock the right to even use commands again, each and every one of them needing a boss killed to do so.
My thoughts about FF8 in a nutshell lol. Couldn't bring myself to finish it...one of the only ones I never finished, at least before Square started rolling down Turd Hill at greater and greater speed and snowballed into the Mr. Hanky version of the Stay Puft marshmallow man.
Ahh...those were the days.
heh no worries man. speaking for myself im only here to help. i cant lie this forums really do help with most gaming issues or anything
