Seifer showed respect to squall
So replaying the game again and I'm at the part where squall and co get accepted into seed. So after that seifer meets with them in the hall with his buddies but instead of being a jerk they all clap and congratulate them. See I don't think seifer was ordered to do that, he wasn't happy with the higher ups at that time. I think he chose to do that out of respect. I don't really think seifer was a bad guy, I think he actually did have some respect for squall and his fighting abilities. I think he thought squall could help the garden more than hurt.

Also when seifer tries to kill the president of galbadia or take him hostage, I think he meant right. I think his descent into being a villain was all hypnotic. She was a sorceress with magic, she changed him to a follower almost instantly. I don't think seifer had any real say in becoming a badguy.

I would love to see an 8-2 where seifer actually becomes a good guy, I think out of all the villains I've seen in media he's the one who is the best candidate for a reformed good guy.

Well, I mean, duh, Seifer is just your typical misunderstood teenage delinquent. Both him and Squall got this silly rivalry going on since they were kids. Why would he sees Squall as his rival if he didn't acknowledge Squall's skills and prowess?

Just like Squall, Seifer also has his own insecurities he's too proud to admit. He sees Squall is going places, but he's going nowhere in Balamb Garden due to him acting out. So he, in a misguided attempt, also tries to find his place and ends up being taken advantage by Ultimecia.

Ahahah, please no. Reformed good guy as a sequel? Good Lord. Just write a fan fiction for yourself instead of encouraging the devs to create crappy sequels to ruin an already beautifully concluded story.

I'm all for a FF8-2 phreya and its pretty much a guarantee at this point. Why are you against seifer being a good guy? Like magus from CT wasn't a stretch as much scumbaggery he did to frog and the team? Seifer was being played, and if he came to that realization why wouldn't he join back up with the people he grew up with? They are basically family and I didn't see fujin or raijin at the orphanage.

Also I don't write fan fictions that's part of the whole reason I post my feedback and thoughts on games. I don't try to push a narrative on the creators I merely propose what ifs.

Also I really like seifer as a character, I'd even say he's my fav ff villain but I don't really see him as a villain. So having some actual real psycho villain who wants to destroy everyone, would make a lot more sense as a plot direction to get seifer back in the team.

...err... you said at the beginning of your post that you're replaying the game, again, yet you don't know? Have you ever finished it even once? If not *spoiler alert*:

In the ending, Seifer is seen fishing with Raijin and Fujin in Balamb town. He probably doesn't want to join the party because he's ashamed of what he did. As Balamb Garden flies above him, he looks up and smiles. From that you can come to a conclusion that Seifer has already reformed, found his peace, and moved on.

So why would we need an entire sequel for it when it has already been told?

You should, m8w. You certainly have the talent that only people on Wattpad could appreciate. :taloslol:

Anyone who paid attention to the story won't see him as villain. He's similar to Kain in FFIV.

I always felt like Seifer never cared for Balamb nor Galbadia or any other faction. He cared for being the best, being in charge and he would do anything to achieve it - even hurting his own mates or declining direct orders. There are some scenes when he seems to realize that there are other ppl around him due to their great skill (Squall) or their unconditional loyalty (Fujin, Reijin). Overall however he simply doesn't care for others and might look narcissist from time to time. Sometimes he`s a rival, sometimes he`s more of the older brother.
