Can't Get Changed Into SeeD Uniform

Whenever I try to it just asks me if I want to rest, is this a glitch or am I doing something wrong? I have played this game on the PSX years ago but I can't figure out now how to get changed.

Is this when Selphie tells you to change?

I'm wondering if you are just trying to do this because you want to or because an event in the game is telling you to change? If you're being ordered to change then you should be able to go to your bedroom (inside the dorm room) and select from Rest or Get Changed. Not sure about much more than that. Can you tell us where the is happening to you (what part of the game/story)?

Also, I'm assuming you know that you can not just change uniform/clothes as you please.

Selphie tells me to get changed? After the Fire Cavern I thought it was straight back to my room basically to get changed, checked a walkthrough on Gamesfaq and it basically says the same thing. Once I have returned to Garden I go to room and get changed, there isn't an event or anything mentioned just that after the Fire Cavern it is time for me to go and get ready for the exam.

So that is what I am trying to do, I have played this game so much I know it off by heart but for some reason I am unable to trigger the 'get changed' option.

As I said above, it is just after the Fire Cavern where I am meant to go get changed then meet back in front of the directory but I am just not getting that option to do that.

Have you made sure you're in the right room? It should be the room on the right with the bed and Squall's locker at the end of it.
