Chocobo World and Koko kisses.
I just cleared 100 hours played in this little mini-game, and I've yet to receive my 2nd or 3rd kisses from Koko. I've been digging through threads that are about 15 years old all over the internet and have tried to piece together shoddy bits of information, but nothing seems to be working to get these last two things.

I initially went through the game and got to 100 with a random ID Boko without knowing much about the game. (I did stop for the first kiss at Level 50.) I decided to start over when I read that a 211 ID Boko has a higher chance for better items.

So now, I have a perfect 211 ID Boko with a 9999 weapon. I received the first kiss at 50 by saving Koko and have killed the Demon King. I've fiddled with every possible combination of MOVE, EVENT WAIT ON/OFF, MOG being on/off STANDBY, manually fighting, and going full auto-pilot for events. For all of my effort, I've still yet to receive another powerup. Don't get me wrong, the fact that I have a ton of end-game items halfway into Disc 2 is phenomenal and I'm already doing broken amounts of damage on Godlike characters, but I'm a completionist.

I'd like it if everyone who has received a 2nd or 3rd kiss in this thread could share a detailed account of their experiences with Chocobo World so that we can finally, after a decade-and-a-half, dispel the rumors and nail down exactly how this process works, because I have difficulty believing that the chances of receiving an upgrade are so absolutely random.

Update:

Just got my first random kiss from Koko (second altogether, not counting the first one you can get at 50.)

Conditions were as follows:

-I was playing manually.
-MOVE: 1
-EVENT WAIT: On
-MOG: Standby

Going to keep these set like this and keep playing manually and hope for the best. Will report back.

Update:

Just got my last random kiss from Koko.

-I was playing manually.
-MOVE: 1
-EVENT WAIT: On
-MOG: Standby

What I've deduced from this experience is the following:

*It doesn't matter what your MOVE is set to*
I got both kisses at MOVE 1. Others in many other guides have gotten them at MOVE 3.

*EVENT WAIT needs to be ON*
About 80 hours of my Chocobo World play time was spent having it run on its own in the background and minimized with occassional check-ins with event wait off. In a solid hour of consistent play split up between two sessions of manual guidance, I found success.

*MOG's status likely doesn't matter*
None of the guides I've read have indicated whether he needed to be toggled to standby or sleep, but I figured that I'd include it anyway.

I'm not exactly sure how having the "perfect" Level 100 and 211 ID came into play to up my chances, nor am I particularly convinced that having a 9999 weapon mattered, but I'm absolutely convinced that the determining factor here is that EVENT WAIT needs to be ON.

I hope this is of some help to someone down the line. Hang in there and keep steering Boko around and you'll eventually get those kisses.

Hi guys, i want to add my experience (work in progress).
I read this after reading also different other guides involing different methods, like movement, event wait, % chance (4/512) and such.
Now: yesterday i beat Demon King on level 100 with my 211 ID and weapon 9988, played for a while but never found Koko; today, i resumed CW and played for about an hour but never found Koko, but now here's something, i think... after reading this (which also made me discover there's Move 6, didn't notice, i thought the max value was 5), i tried setting Move 6, Event Wait On (had it ON for all the playthrough) and tried setting Mog Standby. After setting Move and Mog, i played for about 5 minutes and found Koko (Chocometeor), also it seems i find quite more often Moomba (sounds weird but looks just like it).
Now, i'm gonna play some more and see if i'll find Koko soon. Only, i wanted to quit CW to update FF8 data (items and Chocometeor), so I don't know if quitting CW and then resuming (not going into FF8, just quitting CW) can help, but I think if I find Koko soon it can maybe prove that Mog is also necessary. We'll see, I'll keep this updated.

Update: after my last message I played for about 10-15 minutes at most and found Koko. I lost Mog after maybe 5-10 minutes or so, then luckily (?) found him back right away and after 2-3 events i found Koko.
So MAYBE (means: surely?) Mog must be set on Stand By? Try yourself and uptate us. To recap:

- i did the main scripted events, all the way with Mog Sleep, Event wait ON and Move 5
- on level 100 i found Demon King setting Move 1 (confirming Move 1 makes it appear at 100% chance)
- at this point i still had just Chocoflare
- after playing for at least 2 hours, still nothing, i tried setting Mog Stand By (and Move 6 confirming also that Move doesn't seem to affect Koko)
- within about half an hour i found Koko the 2 remaining times

Thanks for the thread! Maybe now I'll get something out of this minigame, too.

Let us know if these tests and results seem to work!

This post is over 7 years old, my guy. Appreciate the contribution but necroing something this ancient should be illegal.

Trust this, this is the only post that gave proper help (or so it seems)! Also, had a hard time to find it!

Some books are thousands of years old yet people still read the stuff in them. Now open your eyes to what the people around you are like.

From myself I can add that it helped me just changing the move from 5 to 6 and back, and changing the sleeping mog to waiting and back, as well as closing the СW every few events for bringing down game timers. literally knocked out 2 last kisses in 10 minutes

I did this and got nada for a long, long time after playing a while.

Then I read another post about how you probably need to import your Chocobo into your game and use Mimmett Greens to get a kiss.

I brought Koko HOME, used Mimmett Greens on a low XP enemy, put him back into the WORLD, and I got a kiss within maybe 5 minutes. Event Wait was On, Move was 6, and Mog was sleeping.

However, I was unable to get the 3rd kiss even after hours of playing, exiting the game, entering the game, changing the settings, and then resetting the settings to all variations of Event Wait, Move, Mog standby/sleep. I'm inclined to believe that this is just an extremely rare event where the EVENT is set to ON.

EDIT: CONFIRMED, this is completely random. I got my 2nd kiss around 80 hours of gameplay. I got my 3rd kiss around 216 hours of gameplay (Chocobo World running on one computer while I worked on the other computer). It's just random.

You mean Gysahl greens? there are no mimett greens in ff8.

Still, I find it QUITE strange it's totally random, if that's so random I wonder how's it possible the event triggers right away after changing some settings... Who knows...
