Can you get "occult fan 1" and "weapons monthly april" after leaving for timber?

Occult Fan I'm pretty sure you can, I remember getting that way ahead when I played on PS Weapon's Monthly I'm not really sure sorry.

You can get it also when you return to balamb after missile base. But occult you have to get later and have some specific people in your party i think because of the woman blocking the shelf.

Btw you don't actually need the weapon magazines to upgrade them just the materials. Hence being able to get high level weapons before the Dollet mission.

I found that out by accident lol went to the junk shop before leavening Balaam and I could upgrade to Twin Lance or Punishment.

That's correct. He might be going for the magazine achievement though, some of which you can buy later on, i forget which ones.

You can also buy most magazines in Esthar in the shops. But not every single one, as far as I remember.

Once Tonberry has the "Familiar" ability you can buy Occult Fan I and II from the Esthar Book Shop (found in the shopping mall - you should visit all of these stores in the mall before going to the Lunar Gate).

Occult Fan III (Master Fisherman quest in FH) and Occult Fan IV (Esthar presidential palace) are missable and completely irretrievable if you don't get them at the appointed times.

As far as I can recall you can also buy all of the weapons mon magazines except for Weapons Mon 1st from there as well.

Occult Fan 1 can be grabbed in the library in Balamb Garden right at the beginning.

I am using a really good walkthrough(since I've played through most of it years ago) that has things set up for perfect games. :-)
