But as Diablos has nearly the same lvl as you, he's very powerful at higher lvls. I always go for him ASAP, but later... don't know if blindness works on him, so he can't kill your team (the powers just drop HP, but don't kill, AFAIRemember). Spam Renzokuken, maybe use Zell for lot of hits and Selphie for her Ultimate (Full Heal included, depending of the weapon she has).
Didn't one of the special "boosts" they add to game said you could turn off encounters?
If you haven't figured it out already, being at "critical" HP is actually a good thing. Keep spamming the button to swap turns on your characters and you'll get your Limit Breaks to pop up literally every turn.
Keep Squall at low HP and your other two people are there just to revive in case things go south, and you should be fine. Spam Renzokyuken and you'll win. You can repeat this for pretty much every encounter in the entire game.
Diablos is really easy...seriously. The only threat is once he gets to low health he'll start using physical attacks for a crap ton of damage, so ideally you wanna just keep hitting him hard, have one of your characters designated to healer. make sure ALL of your characters have magic and cure avaliable just incase.
