Is this a remaster or Original - using Randomiser issue.

I wanted to give a randomiser a shot I found Maelstrom V0.5 the one everyone is using but it states you need a classic version of FF8, is the one on steam a remastered version? I setuip everything but nadda nothing happends, I ve watch vids and followed the procedure to find the install folder but alast nothing, any ideas?

This is a Steam port that's based mostly on the old PC port of Final Fantasy VIII, with some minor differences.

It is extremely hard to find the old CDs/files from the 2000 Windows release of FF8 (wish I didn't lose mine), so I think the randomizer is referring to this version. In fact, I think the randomizer in question works on both, but not all options work on both.

yes I love primal hes my go to, I unlocked it, pathed the location of file and then save it, hit go and nothing the game dosent even launch because it has to launch via FF8 launcher so how do you bypass the launcher and go straight into the game. I so confused.

While i was testing some stuff. demaster dose not work well with Ragnarok/Crystal (or any rebalancer) in fact it wont change anything due to changes in DLL file. Even thou exe with randomizer wont change anything anything. Probably cuz they are not compatible
