Black screen after ending credits

Is it normal for the screen to be black, no sound or anything, after watching the final cutscenes and end credits after beating the game? Cuz that happened for me. After it said "The end" it faded to black and stayed there. I could activate the boosts and hispeed mode, and hit escape to get the "quit game" prompt but that was it. I figured it would at least send me back to the main menu, but nope, just blank.

Normal? Or did it glitch?

I don't recall any of the times that I beat the game where it faded to black and stayed there. Usually it just stays on the ending screen until I quit. It sounds like it glitched but at least it didn't make you lose progress haha.

I think it is normal. I was puzzled too the first time I beat the game on PSX.

There's nothing wrong with your game - it's completely normal and is supposed to do this. There's nothing to do after finishing the game, there's no new game plus and it doesn't even take you back to the title screen.

I beat this game twice on PS2 and that happened to me both times. Maybe this was something that was changed in the PAL version of the game?

I finished the game minutes ago. Got the blank black screen. Nothing wrong. My achievements and saved games remained after I restarted.
