Cannot defeat Mobile Type 8

Well, I didn't go out of my way to grind spells and optimal junctions, or even fully upgrade everyone's weapons. This really so far it hasn't been an issue, until now. This boss seems impossible to beat unless you beat him before he can use Corona (meaning go out and spend several hours grinding all the optimal stuff if you haven't already).

I've looked up guides that basically say "just heal up after Corona," but I don't even get the chance. My entire party is reduced to 1 hp, then his probes use physical attacks on all 3 party members to finish my squad off -- before I even get a chance to use a curaga or potion.

Pretty much all of the tips I've read seem to imply you should have a chance to heal after Corona, but I do not get this chance. I have been able to select my potion and cure before the probes follow up after Corona, but it doens't matter. They get turn priority and everyone dies.

Has anyone else experienced this? It doesn't seem right that everyone seems to suggest there SHOULD be a healing period after corona, yet that doesn't happen in my game.

Cast Cerberus at the start to put the party in Triple status then cast Haste to everybody. And with Triple status single person can heal everyone with Curaga. Or use Triple (or a Megalixir) to heal everyone. You can also draw Aura from the Left Probe and use it on Squall to unleash his Renzokuken to take the bugger down easily. Junction Thundaga to Elemental Attack for best results and make this fight easier if you are having difficulty. You can also make use of Quezacoatl’s thunder based attack.

Make sure you use (if u want) Mug on both of the shoulders as they both hold very impressive items (4x[Vit Up] and 4x[Str Up]). Other than for a quick Mug though you should not waste any time on either of the shoulders, as their defense is quite high. Focus your attacks on the main body.

While its shoulders are attached it will attack with a relatively weak attack but every time you hit the torso it will counter attack you with a move called Twin Homing Laser.

When its shoulders are detached it becomes much more lethal. So don`t Attack wait and heal.
As soon as its shoulders attached attack. While its shoulders are attached it will attack As soon as its shoulders detach it will use a move called Corona that will reduce each party members HP down to 1. Be ready for some quick heals when it does. It will also use an attack called Medigo Flame that will always cause around 2000 damage to each party member.

You can try this - go to the menu inside the game, Config - and bring the Battle Speed Bar to the slowest option.
