Can't get out of the sewers on disc 1.

I've played and beaten this game at least twice, but it was a very long time ago, and I can't for the life of me remember what to do to get out of the sewers, I know it involves getting over those wheel things, but I don't remember how to climb them. Can someone help?

from the very beginning press action key to open gate and cross the little bridge. Press X (action key) to open the gate to your left. A ladder will fall, don't cross it unless you want the ESUNA draw point. keep going straight until you come to another gate. Open it. Go straight and open the other gate than cross the bridge and open the gate to your right.

Keep going straight and cross the wheel by standing on the bridge and pressing the action key and than cross the other wheel by pressing the action key. now Open the gate to the bottom-left. Keep doing this over and over (it will seem like you're not progressing but you are). Once you are at a new screen just head straight down and open the gate. A ladder will fall. Don't cross it. Instead just open the gate near you. Now keep going straight and cross the wheel. Open the gate, head straight and you are out of the sewer.

Yea, it's a confusing little maze. It also helps if you already have diablos and if you've had him learn "Encounter None". Otherwise it becomes a VERY frustrating little maze that can end up making you go in circles.
