Error Code: 193 (CreateProcess returned an error)
I keep getting this error whenever I press the 'PLAY' button on the launcher. Can anyone offer any insight into how I can fix this? Thanks in advance.

Read Section I here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/39140/discussions/0/846958223142757599/

Also "Error Code 193
System error code 193 means "%1 is not a valid Win32 application." This error code may also display as "ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT" or as the value 0xC1."

Followed that but no luck unfortunately. I tried making exceptions in my firewall/antivirus, I tried deleting the files in 'my documents'. I've validating the cache multiple times. Sad times.

do you have enough hd space left on your drive? Are you running steam as an admin?

Yes to both.

Delete the game on that drive then reboot your pc then use this guide to run checkdisk for that drive: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-ca/windows-vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Once done install the game again and try it.

Try installing it on a different hardddrive.

Installing games to C:\Program Files is really bad in any modern OS. There are massive security restrictions.
