Ok, cool and after I get everything fixed I can load my games, turn on cloud saves and start using them right from that spot? Or do I have to restart the game to access cloud?
That answered the question I just asked. Thank you for the help guys.
So make a backup of my local save before I go back online? Are the saves in user folder or a Steam folder?
Way to get around it is to boot up the game with cloud saving restored, continue without loading the memory slot yet, let it search the cloud, then quickly move the desired save file into the game's save file and load the save. Once you've got it loaded, then you can save normally to have the cloud recognize it.
Ok nice and with cloud saves I can have multiple save files but not offline correct?
So...long story short, playing with or without cloud saving is up to you and allows for multiple save files either way, but you'd have to do that tedious process I stated for each individual file you wish to keep offline progress from when you re-enable cloud saving.
Just a matter of weighing the pros and cons for yourself. If you don't mind doing that process repeatedly, then feel free to make as many save files as you want while flipping back and forth. *shrug*
You'll also have to do a similar process if you want to use any sort of "save editor" while using cloud saving. Just a heads-up. (Having beaten the game numerous times previously, I am quite comfortable with using one, which is why I brought it up.)
Now what is this character booster you're talking about, does it make it faster to level up? And I'm assuming once I use it, the effects can't be reversed on a save file? I guess then I could have a save file offline used for pure play and a cloud file for me to mess around on.
Hopefully it was just a bug for you, the main concern I had for purchasing this game is it to turn out like Diablo 3 did, forcing me to be online even if I was playing single player, not co op.
From what I've gathered, it sets the HP of characters to 9999, MP to 999, and gives you a large amount of gil. I think it can be reversed, which is why it's part of the cloud save feature. It effects the version on their network, then after you save again you can undo it or something. Not sure, exactly about the reversal, though.
Doesn't boost EXP or AP, and it doesn't effect any stats besides HP/MP. ...so the characters will stay as weak as they were...they'll just take a lot more hits before going down.
