In another thread, you said you've played this game before, even complaining about Great Glacier. Everything is explained in North Crater. How do you not know this, m8w?
Ok was just wondering, so basically they see him as a brother?
Seperoth also drops materia for the party, guess he wanted cloud to be stronger maybe he wanted a real fight and was bored.
The only instance Sephiroth has ulterior motive with dropping materia is when Jenova Death dropped Black Materia, in which he then manipulated Cloud to bring it to his real body. Pay attention to the game instead of making up such a wacky headcanon, m8w.
What's a seperoths? Anyway, the reason is simple. Cloud has Jenova cells, just like the other black-caped figures. They're all headed to Northern Crater sort of like a religious cult on a pilgrimage, so they want to support each other so that at least one of them would make it to the Reunion.
That's also why "Sephiroth" (actually Jenova disguised as Sephiroth) gives Cloud the Destruct materia: it's in his best interests that Cloud can make it to the Reunion to give him the Black Materia. Remember, in FFVII OG, Sephiroth doesn't really consider Cloud his enemy for most of the game. Instead, he views Cloud as a pawn he can control to obtain the Black Materia. What's ironic is that the Destruct materia is great for removing Safer Sephiroth's Wall buff during the final battle.
