Rise of the Tomb Raider flickering lines and boxes
Well, it seems like I found a graphics bug in the game. I see flickering lines when looking at the burnt pieces of wood in the sky in this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Sd7AovJ4uU
Edit: Here is another issue called the flickering black boxes.
Edit: Turning off screen based reflections stops the flickering black boxes.

Even when underclocking my graphics card (gtx 980 ti classfied) below factory speeds doesn't fix this. Hopefully, Crystal dynamics can fix this issue in a upcoming patch.
Here are my specs:
Processor: Intel core i7 4790k @ 4.6 ghz
Ram: G-Skill Trident X (2400 mhz ddr3)
Graphics Card: EVGA gtx 980ti classified
Motherboard: Gigabyte z87x-ud5 th (Bios F4)
Sound Card: Creative ZXR
Hard drive: Samsung 840 Evo 250 gb
Cd-rom drive: ATAPI iHAS124 W
Keyboard: Razer DeathStalker
Mouse: Razer DeathAdder
Case: Corsair 500r Black
Display: Benq XL2420g g-sync 1080p
Water Cooling: Corsair H110
Operating system: windows 8.1 pro 64 bit
Any one else have similiar issues?
Edit: As of February 13, 2016 Their have been two patches. None of these patches have fixed the above issues. Developers, please fix the above issues.

i'm not claiming it's an issue with your GPU... unless its happening in other applications like mine did.
No. It's not faulty hardware. Many people have come foward and reported these issues. As far as the weird sharpes and lines you encountered, that could have been a tesselation bug, as was for Nvidia when Tomb Raider 2013 first came out when enabling tesselation. That was fixed with a patch and a driver update.
Then again, your using amd. I used to have a r9 290. Worked well with Tomb Raider 2013 maxed out.

It was def a hardware issue on my end with the 280x. i would get artifacting from most of my games. hell, even using an Aero desktop caused my screen to artifact lmao. I knew what the problem was from day 1 of these issues. The gpu was an Asus 280x Direct cu ii. which had a common issue with this particular GPU due to the way the Memory modules were cooled. Poor design choices when it came to the cooler. 4 or so Vram modules werent being cooled by any sort of heatsink. which caused them to overheat.

This guy had the same issue with his Matrix 7970 (same card). Even demonstrates a way to fix it.

Wow. Engineering at it's finest.
This thread has proved that its not the hardware but the software. Anyways, I have artifacts like this only in this game.

My brother will be getting home soon. i'll have him play on my PC (His save) and try to reproduce this issue. i'll report back with the results. it seems tho you're not the only one. so i wouldn't be to worried about it. There is dozens of bugs in this game that needs to be patched up unfortionatley.

Hey, sorry for not posting back sooner. he has not!! he's actually finished the game while using my desktop on his steam account and has yet to find any graphical bugs, glitches, artifacts. game being almost maxed out with the exception of SSAA. (Screen-space reflections is enabled.) however, he has indicated signifigant framedrops in the soviet installation / geothermal valley which appears to be pretty normal for any setup. his PC is currently undergoing an RMA process for one of his components, otherwise i'd have him repro this issue on this card also.

Gotta love rma's. Right now I'm finishing up far cry 4. I'm using dsr x2 in the game. Looks great.

blame the game, I have the same symptoms in my gtx 980 strix, and similar anomalies seen at the guy on stream, the guy uses a stock GTX 970 strix.I have not seen these quirks in any other of my game, EVGA oc scaner also nothing showed.

i have the same black box at the same exact spot (GTX 960 4GB) but disabling screen based reflections fixes it..but it's annoying that i have to disable a setting i shouldn't have to.
Also it's a brand new card that i bought 2 days ago.

I know. I'm hoping that its the only place in the game that does it. Stoped playing rise of the tomb raider a week ago. Waiting for a solution to the above issues.
