The best Tomb Raider is The Last Revelation (Even in one topic the votes here were about 90% for The Last Revelation).
I guess you should start with Tomb Raider 2. It is a great game to start the series. I think it is the best game to start Tomb Raider Series.
The last Revelation is a bit hard and complex, it is the best, but it is the longer, harder and complex.
So Tomb Raider 2.
Than maybe Underworld after.
Is this games all i need to play?
Or an order for beginning?
So you can play with no order.
Because 3 generation exists with a few games.
I would advise:
1st generation : Tomb Raider 2
2st generation: Tomb Raider Undeworld
3st generation: Rise of The Tomb Raider
Play the 2013 reboot first.
then Rise of the Tomb Raider.
*these 2 are basically the Lara Croft origin story.
after them, go back and play...
TR Legend
TR Anniversary *(10year remake of TR1)*
TR Underworld
(these are still in the newish/modern category)
then after that group, play...
TR1
TR2
TR3
TR The Last Revelation
TR Chronicles
TR Angel of Darkness
(these being the 'retro' era TR games)
*note that all the retro TR have a control system that is alot more difficult and
exacting - tho that is part of the charm of the old games.
My favourite is TR3 - killing T-rex, having fun in Nevada while escaping prison, rainy London.
Once you've played the new ones, then I'd go back and play the first games to see how things have progressed.
Tomb Raider 2013 is a reboot of the entire series. Just about the only similarity to the old games is Lara's name, her hair colour and the fact she's rich following in her fathers footsteps trying to find treasure and ♥♥♥♥. It's still a good modernisation of the series and worth playing for sure.
The original games were puzzle platformers, later turning into action combat with some puzzles and a lot of platforming. These new games(TR2013 and this game) are action shooters with some platforming.
Storywise TR2013 is just an origins story. It can be played either before Rise of the Tomb Raider or after. It doesn't really matter and so far the current game hasn't reflected on Tomb Raider 2013 in the slightest and only has maybe one or two characters from the first game show up.
The games of note to play would be Anniversary Legend(Although it aged not so well being a PS2 era game) and Tomb Raider: Underworld then play Tomb Raider 2013 and then Rise of the Tomb Raider. I only suggest Tomb Raider 2013 first because it might feel a bit dated visually coming from Rise of the Tomb Raider but gameplay it's the exact same.
