Intel Graphics HD 4000???
Hey! I'm new to gaming and have no idea how to tell different processors apart. My laptop has an Intel graphics hd4000 with a quad-core i7 2.9ghz processor. It runs the previous tomb raider game perfectly. Will it be able to run this one? Thanks for the help!!!

are you blind? LOOK at the damn link and stop spouting off BS. those games I list are all WAY under 30 fps on lowest possible settings at 1024x768 so stop making ignorant claims.
Websites like that don't mean a thing, Intel is excellent at releasing new drivers to run exactly the games sites like that claim they can't.
oh of course. lol idiots like you crack me up with excuse after excuse. I am out of here so enjoy living in your fantasy land just to defend your asinine claims.

520 can run it, Iris Pro can run it, Skylake can run it....ultra or high settings probably not but they will run the games you listed medium/low 30fps, maybe in your gaming universe this is unacceptable but I think that this is awesome for integrated processors.

EDIT: unsubscribing as you are nothing but a mouth breathing dolt that cant accept the truth even when its right in front of you.
By the way my unsubscribed friend, anyone who uses notebook check canirunit, or systemcheck websites don't know ♥♥♥♥♥ about graphic chips. You have to use them and tweak them to know them, I have had the privelage to do that so I know they are way more capable than what you seem to think.

The only Intel chips that wont run Rise of the Tomb Raider at all is HD 3000 and below. The 4000 series will struggle to run Rise of the Tomb Raider outside of lowest settings. The 5000, 500, and Iris chips will give a steady medium/low but a laggy high.
Thanks for the help! Our downstairs desktop has a newer graphics card so I can always try it down there, but I'd rather play on my laptop if possible. And thanks to the user who mentioned the Steam return policy. So if it doesn't work, no biggie. I'm trying to save for a gaming pc of some sort, but that's going to be a while away.
No problem, 4000 unfortunately won't run Rise of the Tomb Raider very well. The Tomb Raider reboot you're playing now runs well because it's in DX9 which the 4000 handles with no problem. Rise of the Tomb Raider is DX11 only and requires 6 gigs of RAM, I'm assuming your MacBook only has 4 gigs of RAM. With that in mind I wouldn't advise purchasing Rise of the Tomb Raider without a graphic upgrade.

sure,perfectly
our downstairs pc has an ati radeon hd 4300/4500 series graphics card. is that enough to run this game?
It ran well on the xbox 360 as well so it should be okay if the 2013 one ran well for your system. But the dx11 only release might be a problem, just like Crysis 3 was when people expected a dx9 version on pc as well.

I just checked the card on the internet, and it seems that it only supports DirectX 10.1, which means that if your ATI card is exactly like the one on the site you can't run the game at all.

Other than that the card seems to have pretty low specifications (it's very old now, it's from 2009), so even if you were able to run it, it would probably lag a lot. But as I said, you can buy it to see how you like the game. When you buy a game you have 2 weeks to refund it, but you can't have more than 2 hours in the game, otherwise it will be VERY hard to refund it. Here's the site I checked: http://graphics-cards.specout.com/l/62/ATI-Radeon-HD-4500

It's not even bad for an intel HD, seriously

mmmm, 10 fps 800X600 goodness. Why I'm going to ditch my TitanX based little god and run out to get a surface pro right now!

Seriously, I'm highly impressed that the game would run on it at all, but clearly it's not acceptable for regular use. It also doesn't change the fact that GPU is well below min requirements and is not supported.

To add to this topic, I have purchased the game so I could play on another system. But I also have Steam on my Macbook running Win7 in Bootcamp with the dreaded Intel 4000 HD. 8gb of system memory. It runs.

On High at full resolution I get about 5 FPS
On Medium at 1024x768 it tops out at 11 FPS
On Low at 800x600 it runs at about 20 FPS
And finally at Very Low 800x600 with all filtering/syncing turned off it will run consistently around 30 FPS but looks like I'm playing the game without my glasses on and somebody rubbed sand in my eyes.

Just saying.

HD 4000 is about what...3 years old now. It was asked can the game run, and yeah it can, if you dealing with low fps, too bad, upgrade. I will tell you that newer HD 520 and skylake will give you better performance, buy that instead if you must use a MacBook.
