How to rope-swing-attach to these?

There are some documents I need, and these ceiling gate things are supposed to be used to swing over the gap, but I can't figure out how to attach to them. I'm 38% through the campaign...am I missing sometthing?

That's the Baba Yaga DLC. You actually need a gadget that you get later on in the story to swing past. You can't miss it. Just keep playing. You can come back to the Wicked Vale anytime to 100% it.

I spent way too much time trying to figure those out on my first playthrough... They kinda should have put a message of some kind in the DLC since theres a good chance someone experiences it before they hit the portion of the game where that stuff comes up.

Indeed, like a "missing gear" message like at some other places in the game...hence my confusion.

I don't think the tool u need here has anything to do with DLC, you should ignor it and keep playing, you will get the tool named wire spool by sofia in the futuer, then u can go back and collect the docs. I found that there were challenges u had to leave it and go back to finish it later.
