Performance compared to Tomb Raider 2013
How is this game compared to the original Tomb Raider in terms of performance? TR2013 was optimized very well for the PC and I could run it (50FPS) in my medium tier PC. I want to know if I can run this game in the same settings as well.

What are your spexs?

I think not. It's the same engine but it's heavily updated. If you could run TR on med settings you could probably run ROTR on low BUT since you didn't post your PC specs there's no way to know for sure.

... can't you just read the minimum requirements section?

The game is more demanding, because it has much more advanced graphics.

People who say it's only marginally better don't know what they're talking about. Boy are there a lot of people that meet that criteria.

If you could run TR2013 at 50 fps on medium settings on your PC then you have less then on the TR2013 recommended list which askes for even less then the RotTR minimum required list. Got an impression now?

Thank you all for your replies. You helped a lot. I forgot to mention my PC specs.
Windows 7 64bit
Intel core i5 750 @2.67GHZ
RAM 8GB DDR3
Graphics ATI RADEON HD5750 1GB

I know its below minimum specs but with this setup I could run TR2013 at medium settings @45-55 FPS.

that is not a "medium tier" pc by any means for 2016. and the first game was not demanding at all so if all you could get was 45-55 fps on medium settings in it then you should pass on this game. your cpu would struggle a little but its really that old gpu that is too slow and only has 1 GB of vram.

Yeah. The CPU is fine if you overclock it. I had it OC-ed to 3.8ghz and it ran all games np. But you definitely need a new GPU.

I would go with an Nividia gpu this time since they do better overall with older/slower cpus. even a modest gtx950 would be over FOUR times faster than the 5750.

The RotTR minimum specs tell what you need to reach 30 FPS @ medium settings.

RAM is ok.
CPU barely hits minimum spec.
GPU is below minimum spec regarding both rendering power and vram.

This means low settings and maybe 30 fps for you.
