Stuck after research base? [MINOR SPOILERS]

So I completed the part where I have to rescue Jonah from the research base. Took down all the trinity soldiers and a cut scene played. Then opened the stairs down to the path of the deathless. However, the objective marker is still at the research base and the story objective remains as "repel trinity attackers" Anyone else encounter this? I don't want to replay entire areas losing many collectibles! Thank you in advance.

Just go down the stairs, the objective will change.

thanks, appreciate this answer. the problem seems to be that the objective marker was showing up in Research Base when it should have been at stairs that opened up after saving Jonah.

I go back now, and the door to where she got peppered with that red gas is closed....

Just found the solution to this. Return to Ridgeline base in Geothermal Valley and search around a bit. There’s a wall to break and then you continue from there.
