Problems with the Copper Mine

So, I've mostly cleared it out, but there are two things I can't figure out.
1: How do you enter the cave near the start of the place? I can't find any explosives to blow up the barricade, and trying to bring a can in from outside makes it disappear from your hand half-way to the mine!
2: THere's a glow-y spot near the top of the wooden structure, right after you learn how to make Molotovs. How do you break this wooden spot open?

Yes, that spot. Did you figure out how to blow the mine open? I can't seem to find any explosives in the area.

i honestly dont recall that part...is it one of the tricks where you have to throw it into an opening to get it to detonate where you want maybe?

Near the base of the Copper Mine complex, just a little ways in past the camp, is a cave you can't enter due to a heavy barrier you need explosives to open.

I think i know the cave you're talking about, i couldn't carry an explosive to it either, it would keep disappearing. I got in there eventually when i acquired the grenade launcher

Progress through the game. Once you've aquired the explosive arrows you can return and clear the cave.

Actually you don't need. I made it by going to the top of the mill (where in the mission is on fire).
You can grab a gas can there and tossing it in the exit ramp from there.
Then you keep tossing the gas can and climbing down the building.
You get to a spot where you need to use a rope to get down. Toss the can to floor wich will be next to the cave.
When you get to the floor level the can will be there (For me it worked) and blow the damn metal barrier.

you open the trap door on the floor from below, using a rope arrow. to get to that point, slide down the chute from where the mine cart sits. you will be able to open any and all blocked cave's after you meet sofia and her group.

Yeah, the devs really should have made the "back sides" of doors like that different somehow.. Drove me crazy for too long.

me too. This is very frustrating.I tried to pick gas can from topper platform (on floor at the place first fight occurred). but every time, the gas can disappeared when I tried to go back down to snow.
