Glow Stick and Lighting Bug
So after 20 or so hours of gameplay I developed a bug wherein Lara constantly has her glow stick out, even outside during the middle of the day. Sometimes it hangs off her belt and sometimes she holds it up, but it never goes away.

On top of that anything that casts light (campfires, lanterns, bulbs etc) have become ridiculosuly bright. Even the berries on bushes have started glowing red making all bushes look like tiny Christmas trees full of red LEDs. The light reflects off things like Lara's gun, bow even her eyes in a bizarre way and makes the game look nausiatingly ugly.

I've tried validating the game files, reinstalling, updating graphic drivers, switching outfits, entering and exiting caves/tombs, starting a new file and messing around with every single graphics option but nothing fixes it.

I've only found one other person who is complaining about this same issue and they don't respond to any forum posts so I have no idea they ever found a fix.

This all started to happen before the latest patch released so I know that's not the issue.

It's a shame because I was really enjoying this game but now it's just completely ruined and I can't even get a refund.

Any repsonse would be greatly appreciated even if it's not a solution, I just want to feel like I'm not talking to a brick wall here.

Here's a video (not my gamefile) of someone who has a similar problem with the glow stick always being out. However they do not get the strange lighting bugs coming off light sources the same way I do.

Again any and all reponses would be much appreciated.

I had that happen for a few minutes. It went away without any reloading or anything. I think I dove into something to get rid of it? Try a swan dive.

I wish I could help. Just wanted to prevent your brick wall syndrome.

Thanks for the reply, sadly swan diving did nothing.

It's not just the glow stick being out that is my problem but also some crazy bright lighting effects, I'll post a few pics to show just how bad it is

I havent had the glowstick issue, but i do have a different but similar lighting issue. My problem is that it almost seems like bright areas get stuck in that "transition" type of style (when walking from a dark cave to a snow covered outside area it seems completely blown out then as your eyes adjust it calms down just like in real life)

Now anytime im in an ice cave or snowy area, i can barely see anything and it actuall made the game unplayable (i cant see in front of my while sliding and i keep dying from......idk what haha)

It almost seems like the reflections or light sources are getting bugged and amplified to ridiculous brightness levels.

heres a screen of what i mean - http://puu.sh/n96IE/d6f88868b6.jpg

Also, if it helps im running two EVGA GTX 970s in SLI (maybe an SLI issue?)

I also have a similar lighting issue that started after I came to Geothermal Valley. The lighting in outside areas seem to be completely broken similar to your issue King Flippy Nips. Inside areas are gorgeous but outside areas seem like they're just missing lighting all together. I've checked on different computers and even tried starting a new game but the issue still stands... When the issue first kicked in I had the same glow stick issue as you bobby2hands but that has since gone away.

I've searched and searched in hope of an answer but you're basically the only ones I've found with a similar issue. Don't really know what to do here.

Seems like the problem has been fixed. And it only took 4 patches. Great work Crystal Dynamics.

Nope spoke too soon the problems back. Seriously 4 patches a nearly two months after release and I'm still just waiting to play this game without it looking like a steaming pile of ♥♥♥♥.

In Geothermal Valley caves after the bear is dead the lighting flickers from dark to light depending where you move the camera, it's very distracting, but from seeing this thread it's the least of our worries, and doesn't sound like the only problem they've had. At least I'm not alone. I wonder what nvidia driver works the best for this game?

Bug still persists, fast travel did the job for me.

Head to a base camp and sit. This fixed it for me. Just had the problem today, seven years later.
