All beautiful, curvy women you see in real life aren't realistic. This is how strong and progressive woman should be. #dealwithit

(Or maybe as I have just been playing MEA so anyone looks good!)
I agree. The one in 2013 is perfect and sexy but looks like one of those in Anime. I bet younger gamers might prefer that version.
In ROTR, she looks more real and natural along with the imperfections. In general, I like the new one with better graphics. I still remember she had that desert tank top in Syria, when she came out of the water (all wet) to reach the prophet tomb. The camera showed her full body front and back. I was like,"hmm...she is hot and sexy."
The new Lara also look quite cute with some of her facial expressions. This is particulary after escaping from the Gulag prison with Jacob. They had this conversation on why Lara wanted the divine source. Cute as if she is real, not Anime cute.
ME:A is so horrible. And I don't think Lara is like that. Sometimes I wonder if Bioware did this on purpose, to mock those ugly old witches. I am still very upset with the ME:A as I was a fan.
Yes, gesture and facial expressions are important in real life. Mature adults do pay attention to their gesture, wordings and expressions. If game makers want to make the characters look real, they too need to focus on these just as much as the looks.
This is so sad. I was looking forward to play ME:A. But I believe it is not totally related to SJW. In fact, the game isn't ready for release. Now, I have to put this aside for another year and see how they are going to fix it.
I think it is worth mentioning that there is an enormous difference between how her face looks on most graphics settings (= unnatural and "ugly") and on max graphics settings (= very gorgeous).
If you actually think she's ugly on max graphics, you have some seriously weird beauty standards - best stick to games and avoid the real world. Or, she's just not your type - which is not the same as ugly, is it...
They are pleasing the SJWs. Female looks horrible like super ugly and they even shove transgender in your face till it actually feel inappropriate and uncomfortable to a real transgendered.
That is the problem with ME:A. Sex scene that looks like chessy kiddie porn. They are trying to be liberal but they only create more problems that is not necessary. Remove the sex scene, stick with the adventure and there should be less social issues related to the game.
Afraid I can't tell you which settings are more significant here: I can't run it on max settings either, this is what I've gathered from watching clips other people have uploaded with stated max graphics - where her face does look pretty good in the sense of not too unnatural. On low graphics, which is what I have mostly played on, agreed that she looks very weird, especially her teeth/mouth...
I think this definitely is a legitimate criticism of the game: the graphics should scale better. I guess they thought the protagonist's face not looking incredibly weird was low priority... I just think it's important to distinguish between looking bad from a graphics perspective and looking bad in terms of a human's physical attractiveness: the way she's intended to look, i.e. on max graphics, she's definitely not ugly. I find that a very strange assertion. Someone earlier in the thread pointed out the improbability that any of us commenters were or were with anyone of comparable attractiveness in the real world, which I thought was a shrewd perspective...
To me this is even more of an issue, Jonah not only looks completely different but he has also had an unaccountable personality shift - if you go back and play TR again after Rise, it's painfully obvious that they are completely different characters. Would be fine for a remake, but Rise is supposed to be a sequel...
They do also give you a bit of a sense of what Lara has been up to and why she is like she is - basically because of the way her psychotherapist was messing with her mind. I think it's just about believable - but I agree the end of TR2013 looked like it was setting up a rather different sequel. So much for "not going home," that's literally exactly what she did.
