I had that problem myself on first install of the Linux version. Not sure how I fixed it. Eventually it started working.
The Windows version via Proton supports Cloud Syncing across devices. If you go into the properties for the game and choose a Proton version it will switch to the Windows version of the game.
I think the GNU/Linux version should probably be hidden behind a beta flag that people have to manually opt-in to, if they want it for some reason (maybe for support with older hardware when installed on an older distro?).
Anyway, switching to Proton, the game works fine. 3840x2160, all settings maxed out, DX12 mode, 80 FPS average in the benchmark tool (with an old i7-6700k + an RX 6800 XT).
It resolved itself in the end after a Steam Deck update it started to work.
Ты просто гигачад, который спас меня спустя год!)))))) Заработало, спасибо!)
