DX11 or 12?
I see there is an update that improved DX12 performance, can someone confirm it is better on DX12? I'm using a R9 270X atm. Also, if I install it on windows 10 will I lose my save? I'm using dual boot (win 7 and 10).

My rig is a 2600k @4.6 GHz with a GTX 1070, got significant gains with dx12 after the new update. The addition of async compute was huge for me. Just try it out, run the benchmark in dx11 and dx12 and compare. It'll probably be better for you too.

Shouldn't lose your save, I think it's cloud saved? But the local save is here I think:

Can you post the benchmarks for DX11 and DX12 in the new benchmarks thread. Thanks.

Its not async its the reduced CPU and driver overhead.

Yes, not really due to DX12 but with DX11 you can activate VXAO.

Hi! I too have a R9 270x, 2GB version.
I just ran the benchmark tool with the game's medium preset, and motion blur turned off.

Overall avg. of 58 fps for DX12 VS 59 fps for DX11.
However DX12 had higher minimum frames, and I did notice the game running smoother.

My PC other specs i7 2700k @3.5 ghz and 8 GB DDR3 ram

Hope that helps :)

Can you test with Async off and on with the ini files for dx12?

FYI im running a skylake g4500, 8gb ddr 4 and radeon rx480. getting 39fps @1080p on very high settings via in game benchmark tool on dx 11, to my surprise this drops massively when i turn dx 12 on, i lose about 15fps!!! bit of a backwards step really on my setup anyway. I wonder if a new i5 will make much difference.

1070 on Dx12 isway better than DX11...
Some reason when I run at DX11... the fps drop to 15...

running R9280x DX12 runs way better than DX11. I upgraded to win10 to confirm the reports about DX12 performance increase. Well this is the case with AMD cards at least
