Open World or Linear/Tunnel-like?
Does this game have any open world or is it one scene you play through to the next?

Alot of QT moments as well?

It's more like a hybrid. The world is big enough but not too big. It is not a sandbox.

You can ignore exloration and just follow main story but it is highly rewarding (most of all tombs and crypts).

QTE's are there but I think more of them we had in TR from 2013.

Another question inserted here rather than starting a new post:

What % of this game and the 2013 one consist of raiding/exploring tombs in the Indiana Jones-esque style (what I like), and % is about hiding in corners waiting for guards to kill them/stab them etc (what Im not that interested in) ??

I don't know percentage man but there is much more exploration. Tombs are bigger and better designed than in tr 2013 and we have new feature - crypts. Lara is still a killer but you fight less. The exception is the final phase of game which is like 30 minutes od fighting.

It's a mix. You have two main hubs, a snowy area and a lush green valley. Each of these areas contains lots of places to explore with some npcs that even give you some quests. However the main game is still pretty linear as far as level design goes. I do agree that crypts are better this time around and more varied than ever.

The setpieces are also quite tone down so you get less scenes where you essentially run down a collapsing corridor while everything blows up around you for no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason.

Good feedback. It sounds like they improved some areas I was hoping they would. Thanks.

I have to mention that story is mediocre, but gameplay is superb. TR 2013 had better story. Despite it, this game is essential PC gamers experience and you should or even must check it out.

RotTR is a very good tech demo on TressFX, and compared to TR2013, having it at full setting eats less of your fps which is a massive improvement. Back then TressFX would render your game basically unplayable due to how laggy it would become. But yeah, story is B-tier direct-to-home-video tier quality but hey now you can count the individual pores on Lara's face!

Its both. Alot of the areas are pretty linear and scripted but then theres big open areas filled with tombs, caves, crypts and a crap tonne more.

percentage wise about 2% of 2013 was exploring while a RotTR has a much larger amount of content, areas to explore etc. I beat the tr 2013 game 100% in under 10 hrs but RotTR took me over 40 hrs to 100% and thats without any of the expeditions and other modes.

Im glad I found this thread. I honestly thought the last tomb raider had a mediocre story so if it was better I think Ill have to wait till a big sale. Thank you for posting your honest opinions.
