The 1650 Max Q sacrifice a lot of performance for low temperature. Is actually normal you dont get good FPS.
I had the GTX 1650 Ti i run this game on very high (except textures bc VRam) and an average of 55 fps. How i said before, i was about to buy a 1650 Max Q but the sacrifice is so huge for just 5-15°C.
The only thing you can do is low the resolution or details.
Yeah its an Extreme Gen 2 from Lenovo. I did read about some areas in this game that even lag on much stronger rigs.
If you do a quick search you will see how much performance the Max Q exchange for cooling. The 1650 Max Q turbo is 1245 while that is the base frecuency on the 1650Ti and the turbo is 1485 on the 1650 Ti. PLust the 1650 Ti has DDR6 while the Max Q has DDR5 with an extra downed speed.
Just a quick comparative of speed from the 1650:
1650 Max Q reaches 79.68 G/Textels (DDR5 memory 128GB/s)
GTX 1650 reaches: 99.84 G/textels (DDR5 memory 128GB/s)
1650 Ti: reaches 95.04 G/textels (DDR6 memory 192 GB/s)
From the 3 GPU variants on laptop 1650 Max Q is the lowest variant you could get and that bc if you check on nvidia page the "Max Q variant" is focus to keep the laptop cool and to reduce temperatures you only had two options, increase the fan speeds or just reduce the hardware speeds what NVIDIA did on this GPU variant. They also mention the max q variant as "Discrete graphics" a word you will never see on a GPU 100% dedicated for gaming. Insted you will find "Dedicated graphics".
On a quick math calculation i got the Max q was about 15% slower than the rest but theres pages like this one: https://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1650-Max-Q-GPU-Benchmarks-and-Specs.418763.0.html that says is actually a 25% slower. Thats the main reasson why i let pass a MSI with i7 and the Max Q GPU. If you laptop has a good cooling system (in the laptop case that is the vapor chamber) then you dont need to worry about temperatures. But Max Q is not so powerful as you think it is. Any other variant it is except this one.
