The Greek language the Deathless speak is very clear, very precise and makes actual sense in regard to what is happening in the game. It also sounds really cool and definitely not cringeworthy for a change.
PS. It's not Ancient Greek, it's modern Greek btw
Thanks a lot!
Another undocumented language I noticed in the game is chinese, which is surprising. 2 chinese characters (meaning 'suffering') are carved on the gravestone in Geothermal Valley where you complete Paying Respects Achievement. You'll need to set Graphics level to highest in order to see it.
I was very disappointed there were no subs for the Deathless, they sounded as cool and fearsome as can be.
But this idea is awesome, and I agree that it was a missed opportunity. Hopefully some other games can implement it, if none have already.
some of the quotes:
"Εκεί είναι" - sounds like "ehkee ineh" = There she(or they) is (are).
"Οπλισθείτε" - "oplish-theehteh" = Arm yourselves
"Ο εχθρός" - "ο ehcthros" = the enemy
"Προσοχή" - "Prosohee" = Attention
"Κυκλώστε" - "ki-klosteh" - Circle (around)
"Την βρήκα" - "Tin Vreeka" - I found her
"Σκοτώστε την" - "scotosteh tin" - Kill her
Although her real name (Serafina) is of Italian/Spanish origin.
It's not Russian. I said that in the first post.
"Serafima" was a popular name in Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution and some time after. It's etymology takes it roots from a name of an angelic rank in Hebrew -- the Seraph.
