is there endless chromite and magnesite ore in the game, or are they limited?
particularly in regards to chromite ore.

not having the geologist upgrade while mining magnesite ore means as far as i understand, that u waste chances to get rare magnesite ore.

so is that true and should i wait to get the geologist upgrade, before mining any ore, or is there a way to get endless magnesite ore, for example through respawning magnesite ore sources.

pls, help to clarify.

There is an "infinite" supply but it comes in "finite" amounts.

Basically, you need to move from area to area in order to find everything since it takes time for all resources to respawn.

so i just have to jump to another camp site late game for example and save and then jump back to the first area's campsite and ores should have respawn?
or do i need to spend some game time in the other area before jumping back eg afking?

Just plot yourself a route; Forest; Russian Camp; Valley and follow that.

There's plenty of caves in those 3 areas that should net you a nice amount if you cycle through those.

It is still useful to have due to the extra loot and higher drop chance for 2nd tier ore

yeah of course, i probs get it asap anyways, but not having it just means in the worst case, to spend some more time cycling the 3 mentioned areas and cave farm. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you want everything upgraded before the final encounter, you'll be cycling through a lot of areas to get all the stuff from the men you kill.

The grind is a bit much in this game.

"the men you kill" u mean for farming technical parts from soldiers respawning?
i read a few soldiers respawn in clumps at some points, so i guess the same applies as for farming ore, cycle areas and farm soldiers?
and i think i'll be happy once i got my maxed out bow, but the more upgrades the more better of course.

It's been a while since I've played it. Gonna do the mansion before Shadow comes out but yeah, the technical and mechanical parts need a whole lot of farming. Just cycle the areas since they only spawn in like groups of 2-3, if you're lucky there are 5 of 'm.

Here are my notes copy-pasted, expect variances in timers, see ore:

There are a variety of spwan conditions (may also get blocked, or delayed at times):
1 Most exotic animal ingredients (bear, lynx, boar): Every 1.5 hours of continuous play.
-Possibly affected by pausing, Alt+Tab, reloading....
2 Stag (exotic): Prior to meeting first bear, auto-respawn with every reload of checkpoint.
3 Wolves & Deer: Affected by progress, Trinity spawns (farm while abundant)
-Timers vary the most, possibly due to blocks, just check with each transitional map load.
4 Ores (second requires Geologist): Both can even spawn in one vein together, ~2 hour.
5 Other scanvenged ingredients, about the same as ores.
6 Some corpses respawn ingredients with each reload, if not, then with each map transition:
-Deer carcasses at bear dens, and 4-6 humans in gulag (depending upon point being farmed).
7 Early game: Animal and human spawns preclude one another (Siberian Wilderness).
8 Humans: Once unlocked via progress, many locations re-spawn with each transition.
-Siberian Wilderness, Siberian Installation (multiple areas).
Note: Transitional map loads should trigger respawns once timer is cleared.

add- Ore and other ingredients are so long, I gave up timing, tend to just sweep every other exotic run.

I think the skill you need is in the voice of god tomb. But it may be the one with the cart you down the track and crash thru the wall.

i was actually wondering why the stag respawns everytime, so later on stags will take about 1,5 hours interesting.
so everything respawns and there is no limited resource in the game and i can't "waste" anything so to speak, correct?

The Stag is a bit odd compared to bear, lynx, and boars.

Okay, <throws hands up in air :D > ... I get chastised for TMI, but here is some more details:

Stag doesn't follow the same rules for some odd reason. I'll see none at all for the longest times, then a lot more than expected; the farming in this game is glut and starve, so get them while available. For instance, after one of the missions in Geothermal Valley, There were 2 at once. The best time to farm him, is as stated in notes.

The lynx in the Hunting Grounds area of Soviet Installation, is even worse. My most recent game, he only spawned once. I wonder if ohter spawns or Babba Yagga DLC interferes?

Lynx over near Cathedral, I remember him spawning upon transitions in one game, but less frequently in others. In the former, it could have been similar to the Stag's auto-respawn and reliant upon progress point in game.

One bear in Geothermal Valley hasn't respawned in any games, but the other does.

Best exotic run, inlucing humans for salvage:
Geothermal (up to 4 boars, lynx, bear, possible Stags)
Siberian Wilderness (Bear, humans, possible Stag)
Soviet Installation (Wolves, humans, possible Stag)
Gulag (human corpses and possible humans)
Other SI areas as desired for humans and variety of locations

add- oops forgot to answer:
No resources wasted, all respawn eventually.
