Rise of the Tomb Raider

Rise of the Tomb Raider

Ver estadísticas:
Most demanding graphics setting
I have a gtx 1080, 16gb ram, and a i5 4670k @4.5ghz and even on medium my frames are dropping below 60fps.
I play on a 3440x1440 monitor, and I have tried DX11, 12 modes, and turned AA off.

What is the most demanding settings? Shadows? I have tried turning each one down, but it doesn't make much difference

Shut off Steam Overlay, FRAPS, [insert of FPS displays] and just play the game.

shadows, dynamic foiledge, hairworks probably being the most demanding.but if the fps drops are at about 50fps i really wouldnt worry pretty normal.

Hairworks is pretty intense and doesn't really add a great deal. Sure it looks nice but its a bit of a performance hog and it's always the first thing I turn down when I need some extra performance.

MSI Gtx1080, i7 6700k, 16Gb ram, all at stock speeds and I have everything on highest setting using DX12 - 2560 x 1440 at 144hz and I'm averaging 80-90 fps - have you overclocked the GPU or is it stock? Perhaps the CPU bottleneck necking the GPU?

Thanks for taking the time to give me advice guys.
GPU is at stock, and the CPU is at 80%

Ill turn off hairworkd and see what happens

TressFX (hairworks version in TR) isn't really demanding anymore, you can keep it ON at least.

Maybe check your PC for background tasks, and / or how well the CPU utilization scales. Some drops may occur in some areas, but shouldn't be a regular thing.

If you want a very detailed guide, to screw and benchmark around:

Hey I checked my CPU usage during gameplay and it ranges from 30-45%. Hope it provides some insight into your issue as yours is at 80% ...

i am experiencing the same problem...
Having everything on max. (Resultion 1920x1080, 144hz) i can only run the game on 45-50 fps...

System:
i7-6700k @4Ghz
GTX 1080
32GB Ram @ 2400hz

Drivers are up to date...

I tried changing single options.. but nothing shot of a drastic downscaling seems to change anything...
DX12 improved fps to +-60 but caused crashes and severe stutters.. also motion sickness...

I should be able to run this game with a lot more fps... i mean... the witcher 3 on max runs with 90-100...

Edit:
On LOWEST SETTINGS i barely get 70 fps...

try using geforce experiance 3.0 and click on the spanner to see all the settings in depth then you can adjust individually or just slide the adjuster more towards performance instead of quality and note which settings it auto adjusts for the maximum results should put you on the right track for your indervidual set up and specs . :-)

What's your AA setting?

DX12 has nothing to do with how the graphics are presented, so it shouldn't make a difference with your motion sickness. You maybe de-/activated motion blur?

I hope you do know what SSAA does. It is no surprise that your FPS tank heavily with it.

Use FXAA, the very high preset, and launch the game.
Countrymusics 29 DIC 2016 a las 8:18
hmm a lot better.. 65fps on big open parts of the map and more in other areas.. can you explain the difference for me pls? what mode does exactly what?

but shouldnt i be able to get more out of it.. even on such high settings.. i tomb raider a litte broken this way? cause i get a lot better graphics with more fps in other games...

SSAA stands for super sampling anti aliasing, and with SSAA 4x you basically need 4x the pixel amount of your current resolution - that's A LOT more demanding (around the level of 4k).

Not broken, just very demanding. Certain features may just barely look better, but take a huge performance hit.

A few posts above i linked the official guide by nvidia. Settings and their performance impact are well explained there.
Personally i love to have options, and being able to fine tune a lot of graphics is quite rare nowadays. If you don't want the hassle, just use geforce experience, or one of the presets in the launcher.

P.S.: just forgot to mention, you could maybe check your GPU & CPU utilization, to see if there's some sort of bottleneck or lack of usage.
For just plain 1080p you should gain way more FPS, but who knows, maybe you got some other feature ramped up.
