When should I play the DLC?

I'm at the Geothermal valley and have fire arrows now, should I go back to the previous map and play the DLC? Or would it be more fun to wait until later?

You can't do it during the main story? Yeah I meant Baba Yaga. I got the quest to do it while I was doing the mainstory.

You can, but it's an expansion story anyway.

You can start it anytime, just make sure you activate the campsites you come across so you can fast travel back....there is a 'crypt' along the way you can do also....however you will not be able to do a %100 for Baba Yaga until you get a climbing axe upgrade found later in the main story.

I do Baba Yaga after I finish the 3 side mission in the 2nd visit to the Installation.
If you do it then, when you go to the Copper Mill there's an item you can pick up in the Mill for the BY story

I just finished Baba during the main story. I was at the point where I had to regroup with Jacob.

I did Baba Yaga during the (first) geothermal valley visit. It's a side story and it doesn't spoil anything. Just know that there are some documents you can't get because you don't have all the gear yet.
