To what use are the credits for???
To what use are the credits for??? Buying cards?`But how to use the card in the main game then? Expeditions? Why would one want to play the game other way then "main game"? Or have I missed something about Expedition games? Thanks to you who would like to enlighten me. :-D

Yes, credits are used to purchase additional cards to be used under Expedition.
It's described as "arcade" style games. Score Attack, Chapter Replay, Chapter Replay Elite, Remnant Resistance, Endurance, (SP & Coop), Cold Darkness, Lara's Nightmare.
The cards modify your play under these games. This is where you play for Leaderboard status.

Thanks for your answer Sam. But I still don't know how to "use" the "Expedition mode". I have now played about 50% of the main game. Will the "Expedition mode" affect the main game or vise versa? Probably stupid question, but I'm fairly new to this :-D

Expedition mode has no influence on the main game. You can access it from the main menu.

It's ok to be new, I was when the PC version came out. ReeNoiP is correct, you access Expeditions thru the main menu.
Score Attack, Chapter Replay & Chapter Replay Elite are all the same, except Score has blue wisps & lanterns to collect while trying to beat not only your friends, but also strangers' score. You basically replay the game in sections. For example, Siberia. You replay that scenario & only that scenario. It's a way to "compete" for the top spot on the Leaderboard.
Endurance is a game of survival. You can play it by yourself or with a friend/partner. You gather resources to eat & stay warm while fighting off 2 & 4 legged enemies & exploring crypts.
Cold Darkness. A soviet research facility is about to blow. You must shut it down all the while rescuing prisoners, looking for a few documents, gathering resources, finding weapons, etc. while fighting off the infected soldiers as the research facility was making super soldiers but it went horribly wrong. You shut the facility down to save sophia & nadia's village.
Remnant Resistance are player generationed 5-part missions that earn you credits to buy more cards.
The cards come into play for all of the above. Say you want a gold medal in score attack playing siberia. You can multiply your final score by picking cards that make the scenario more difficult. Most players will use the positive 100% cards & chain them together so that your final score is 300X what it was without the cards.. And the reverse is true, you can use negative cards to enhance your skills.

The expedition mode could be considered as a extension of the main game and using cards is pretty interesting. The expedition won't affect the main game btw

So I'm playing the main game to collect credits for the expedition mode? I have about 110 000 credits now. Collection stuff seemed pointless so far into the game other than getting at opportunity to explore the world, as the credits seems to be useless in the game...

Okay, I will continue the main game and then check the Exploration mode later....

Thanks Sam, and the rest of you as well....

You earn credits in the main game so you have a few to spend when you 1st start any 'Expedition' modes...if you only have the base game you still have 'Chapter Replay/Chapter Replay Elite and Remnant Resistance modes.
You should be able to go to 'marketplace'...there you can spend your credits on card packs.
Play a few of the 'remnant Resistance' maps to get a feel for the card impact...
you have to play at least 7(or 10) to get the other map(Geothermal Valley) unlocked.
If you have 'Cold darkness Awakened' then the cards may help you get thru
the map...you'll need to play that a few times if you want the new weapon and outfit to show up in the main game.
