Do outfits wear and tear?
I just started playing this game and I found it very cool to be able to choose between many different outfits.

But I wonder if all of them get dirty/wear/damaged during the missions. Because on the last game an important aspect of the story was to have her clothes reflecting what she was going through.

Does every outfit gets damaged? Or just the default ones?

Nope, they stay on forever like new.

She changes outfits though, during the story, that is.

More like 'unlocking new outfits' if you don't them already. You can always wear the same thing.

You can, but it doesn't make sense, story -wise.

good question OP. I stuck with the default Red puffy coat and it worn as I played the story. but when I swap for instance the white version or any other outfit, the other stay brand new. So I guess Yes, cloth do worn if you where them long enough.

the amount of short sleeve outfit is so unrealistic... you would probably freez to death if you wear anything than a long parka. Not to mention than full immersion on those water, and you die of hypothermia within an hour...

So the default outfit does wear? Do you think that wearing this default outfit matches the game storywise? I mean, does it look like she would really be wearing that IRL for all the story situations?

I'm pretty certain her red jacket doesn't wear. It is affected by environment though, so if she jumps in water it will look wet. If she's out in the snow, snow will build up on the jacket.

Her outfit naturally changes as the story progresses. From expedition jacket, to a white expedition jacker (it's reversable is how I imagined it) to her Henley top, to a Remnant jacket and finally to an armour set with specific properties.

all I can say is that I only wear the default red outfit, for immersion and realism (cold weather cloth + alpinism crampons) and it got worn. Some whole and spot of dirt apear, you got a bandage with blood stain on your right arm, etc... this is more than just "looking wet" after you get out of water.

I think that's the most realistic outfit. For that purpose, you can basicaly scrap all the short sleeves and all the "no jacket/coat" outfit. But the red one (and its white variant) are the only one with iron crampon for mountain and specialy ice climbing. otherwhise there is no way you can climb a 5m ice wall with just your arm. Red is more practical than white. in case of blizzard or avalanche, you want to be seen. Red will help. White will definatly not

After making some progress in the story I can confirm that the Red default outifit does sustain some damage, get blood stains and looks dirtier then on the begining of the game. I think I will stick with the default outfit on this first playtrough, because I don't want to miss any detail the devs have put into this amazing game.

But I think that it would be amazing if the other clothes would also get damaged the more you use then. If they did, and you want one outfit to stay clean, just don't use it or start a new game!
