I miss the ridiculous QTE's and deaths.
In the older games, they had really ridiculous QTE's that had some funny deaths if you fail them. I remember one of them was Lara jumping off a ramp with a motorcycle then using a grappling hook thing on an overhead rail to then do a loop and jump onto a another platform. If you failed it'd send Lara crashing into a big spotlight thing and down to the ground. It was just so ridiculous and amazing.

I hope the developers bring these back if they do another game.

Obviously those brutal deaths have earned way too many complaints from the community that CD has to tone it down. I doubt we'll ever see them again.

Getting mauled to death by a bear seems way more brutal than the old deaths.

No? It isn't like her limbs are being torn apart or something.

Crybabies aren't forced to play the game and shouldn't dictate what the developers do. I also loved the brutal deaths. After all, she is a fearless adventurer, facing unspeakable dangers and horrors. It doesn't make sense for her to conveniently die a "beautiful death" like an action movie character who wasn't properly rescued by the protagonist. Though I hate QTEs, I understand that in some action scenes, there isn't a game mechanic that will accommodate the movements she will make, so I can tolerate those.
The thing with QTEs is that people in general hated them because some developers overused them due to what you say, game mechanics didn't accomodate to the cinematics they wanted to display.

I don't think complaints are due to brutal deaths(all rise cinematic death sequences are explicity or implicity brutal).

Also, and that's personal opinion a game is a game, meaning that first should be played. If you use too much QTEs you end up sacrificing gameplay in favor of flashy moves. I'm not right with it.

No, it's called Schadenfreude. It's been a staple of comedy for ages.
I never liked QTE's in any game and certainly not in the tomb raider reboot.
I hope they just disapear for ever.

if developers stuck to the same keys then maybe, but when its like hitting a random key each time, and there's no on screen prompt or its the wrong prompt or its not been explained in the manual or for some reason you are on pc and the prompt is for the xbox controller when you aren't even using one then its what the f''k do you do here. There was one prompt that was move left stick up, am on keyboard, what stick.
QTE is cancer !!!
That motorcycle stunt one was from Tomb Raider Legends.
Not a fan of QTEs in any way, shape, or form. There is no fun factor or thrill factor - just mash the button as quick as you can or die! Rinse and repeat. Whoop-di-doo! Good riddance!
