Christian faith.
Fixed it.
I'll take the OP's word for it. This game sounds like another ungodly mess, like so much of the up-is-down, demon-embracing, noisome, spiritually dead crapola put out by far too many devs these days, devs whom I can't help but picture as troglodytic worm-like goth throwbacks hunching over their workstations with a twisted grimace, thinking they're the epitome of "edginess."
To avoid.
I find OP's observation / claim particularly veracious given the weirdly morbid tone of the 2013 reboot. This dev has issues.

PS -- the necro isn't all that egregious given the date for the glib, benighted specimen posting above me.
How could you take this seriously, the game has evil soviet military installation complete with gulag and statue of Lenin in the middle of.. somewhere (it states Siberia, but it's a big place, and I'm not sure if there is any mountains like in the game, so the setting feels kind of like "soviet jungle" in Metal Gear Solid 3 - entertaining nonsense, but MGS3 at least did a little research on the subject), it has indigenous people who was supposedly in isolation for centuries but speak perfect english anyway, and there were also damn mongolians involved somehow. It's corny in so many ways, I couldn't help but like it.
completely out of context from this thread but, in the Bible, Jesus Himself says "Before Abraham was born, I am". "I am" was the name that God gave to Moses in the burning bush. He said to Moses "Tell the people that I AM sent you". "I am" was the name that God had. Jesus calling Himself "I am" means He is God. This is point 1.
Point 2, "Him who has seen me has seen the Father". In the Holy Trinity, the Father and the Son are both God, as well as the Holy Spirit.
Point 3, "I and the Father are one".
So many more.
Jesus is God.
Protestant vs Catholic in Northern Ireland - quiet at the moment, but could return.
Sunni vs Shia.
The children of Isaac vs the children of Ishmael.
Whichever of these ancient stories you believe are true (if any), the storyline in a video game is definitively and categorically fiction. It uses tropes from many traditions across the trilogy, in the way that Tolkein used ancient lore of dwarves and elves in his stories - to set a scene and a mood, to share a cultural reference with the audience.
Trinity is probably a distorted, possibly alternate-universe version of the Catholic Church. But no more than Star Trek's Federation is a version of the United Nations.
TL;DR - it's a game. Don't read too much into it.
Point to where I read too much into it. Did you just read that sentence? Did you look thru the 2 page thread for context?
It looks like you didn't read WHO and WHAT i was replying to. If you saw the context you'd know your "addition" is unnecessary, because at no point did I "read too much into it."
Point to where I talked about anything in the game.

Religion doesn't exist. It's all made up. You can read a book all you want. There's over 3000 deities around the world. If 1 one them isn't real they all aren't.
A person brought up in Christianity, believes the same thing a Muslim, Taoist, Buddist believe. That is that their religion is the right one. If you believe your religion is the right one, you believe all others aren't real. Hold whatever you'd like to hold but I don't ascribe to a dude in the clouds who does nothing and will punish me for almost anything.
In Christianity you sin every day.
Do you value your phone? sin.
Have you looked at anyone and thought anything inappropriate? sin.
Do you have a good feeling when you do something nice? sin.
Do you do anything your parents don't approve of? sin.
Get impatient while driving? sin.
Mixed fabrics? sin.
Shellfish is detestible. sin.
Everyday you have to be in fear of wrath and of a sky daddy who indirectly tells you what to do. Notice how no one hears the voice of God anymore? Joan of arc, Elijah, Ezekiel, Moses.
If you hear god in this day in age, you'd be considered a lunatic. Religion is a pass-time of the old ages. I don't need a book to tell me how to be nice to my neighbor.
YOU do.
