1. at the end you will have more then enough coins to buy everything if you play it 100%.

2. there is only one of at the end 3 tools (crafting tool, enhancement tool, refinement tool) available in the shop (refinement tool), the other ones are loot from strongboxes. the one you can buy in the shop is the last one you need bc its only for the highest craftings/enhancements.

3. you don't really need the rope ascender; it makes things easier but its not necessary. the laser sight is also kinda cool but you don't really need that either.

The lazer sight actually increases rifle accuracy, It does more than just help you aim.

No, of the three tools, there is always one available in the Supply Shack, which is the next one in line. The other two you can get from looting two strongboxes.

So I would advise getting the crafting tool ASAP by buying it, that way you get the three tools the fastest.

I think if you buy the first crafting tool, you will get the enhancemnet tool, and the refinement tool from the strongboxes. Or you could wait after you have opened the first crafting tool and the enhancement tool. Then go buy the refinement tool (should be the most advanced one).

I myself bought the rifle grenade first. Then one of the tools, then shotgun and military rifle. With 100% completion, I got plenty of coins to buy all the stuff.

I should have added if you get the grenade launcher is make the guy with the flame thrower almost trivial (one shot if you do it right) & you can clear certain barriers before you get exploding arrows.

The tool from the shack will unlock the next tier of upgrades whenever you buy it. I've only purchased it first once. Only because by the time you have enough coins you are really close to getting the first tool.

Yeah, I'd really like to "mop up" all those little caves that need explosives... I'm still sitting pretty on all my coins. :D

Edit: It seems all the crafting related tools cost 175. So what I decided is to always keep as much coins in reserve so that I can buy the last tool as soon as it's available.
For the caves with metal barriers, you don't need to wait for the grenada launcher or explosive arrows, you can use the gas cans (small red ones) to open the cave.
But the game will not allow you to take it from Saw Mill to the Copper Mill. You have to wait for the gas cans to appear in the Copper Mill in order to use it.

Thanks Sam - what I found out on my own in the meantime is that two explosive tin cans (those you learn to craft for free, I don't remember the technical term for them) suffice to break metal barriers too.

Yeah, I had 204 coins and just got the crafting tool. Bought the laser sight for 25 to keep >175 at all times. Earlier I had crafted all the inventory-expanding stuff ("rucksack" etc) so with stocked up materials I could upgrade almost everything in tier 2 for all my weapons in one fell swoop.
You know, I had not thought to use the "frag grenade" cans. Thank you :-D

I could be wrong but you can get the grenade launcher before the cans show up, also I havent found a way to clear the cave by the copper mill until after you get the arrows. That cave alone is woth waiting on there isn't anything important in there. If I'm wrong I would like to know where that can is? 1 more thing you don't need the skill to blow up the red cans you can place them and shoot them.

Upstairs, in the mill. They are there at the same time as the ones in the saw mill.

There is a gas can that shows up in the very first time you are in the Soviet Wilderness...before the first bear encounter...you can place and blow up to open one of the caves...only thing you need to go back to that area for is that one cave that needs the rope arrows.

The cave under the the copper mine building is the one I have never found an explosive for until I get one I can fire.

The red cans & tin from up stairs will just disappear before you can get close enough.

Neither weapon is a repeat.
I prefer the military style rifle to the AK 47 you build in the game

So the buyable guns have better stats?

I wouldn't say better, just different. Compairing the similar weapons I prefer the "Military Rifle" from the Shack over the "Assault Rifle" but would use the "Pump Action" over the purchased "Tactical Shotgun".
