"Go to market place to redeem"

I am in Kitezh and this in game message appeared. I remember a market place I was at previously but there is nothing there and no people. Is there possibly another market place
somewhere?

It is the market place from the main menu. My guess is it is a card pack.

Yes, it's the Marketplace on the main menu.
There are 3 sections under Marketplace, New Cards, DLCs purchase (only outfits) and Gifts.
You will find you pack under Gifts.

I just discovered marketplace by accident in the menu list. But buying and selling cards for credits? What purpose does that serve? How do these transactions affect the game play?

The cards alter your game play under Expedition Mode.
There are numerous games under Expedition Mode.
The cards cannot be used in the main game.

What version on the game do you have?....just the base game with the Baba Yaga DLC?

I do have the 20th edition pack. I have 16 card packs. What do you mean by "you must have these packs to open"? As far as I am aware I got the Dreanstinger Bow after downing the witch.
My Compound bow is far superior. Now I am not so sure. Do I have this bow or do I have to
open??? Sorry about my confusion.

You should have both bows if you defeated the witch.
I agree with you about the compound bow. There is also another compound bow...death something...it's red. Dreamstinger is the name of the bow you received when you defeated the witch. The only difference between this wooden bow and the other wooden bows is the poison. Dreamstinger's poison is LSD which confuses your enemies and causes them to kill each.
