I've done it numerous times without fail but I also miss by taking too long, getting the keys mixed up cause I placed my fingers wrong on the KB and other various reasons.
We all understand the frustration, but if you're going to let some Witch beat the pants off of you, you will never get past the final fight.
When you get this frustrated move on to something else if you are still in the main campaign. If not, shut the game down for a while. Besides, as you stated, you spent an hour trying to work this one, so take an hour off.
@lucasj1210 - you owe me a KB...when I saw your answer I had just taken a sip of coke & spewed it thru my nose onto my KB.
My method on the witch is to switch to the assualt or military rifle when I am not trying to tie her to a spool. I think she hides for a set amount of time so I only move fo a few steps or set myself up to jump or perform another action. That usually gives me enough time to aim where she will be before she tries to cut the rope or throw a fire ball. After a short burst of fire from Laura the witch hides and you can have time to be ready. The other bad guys only come out when you get close enough to the next area with the spools.
The only spool I really have a problem with is the last one, third level. The bucket is hidden by a piece of broken wall & if I'm not quick enough, she will have a chance to cut the rope.
Great minds...
continued with Lara not connecting the rope to the spool. I tried standing next to it and behind.
It took a number of tries before she did it. My other problem was that I had no more ammo for my rifle and had to use the hand gun which proved ineffective.
I timed the witch. It took less than three seconds for her to pop up from her basket.
Another problem was on reaching the valve to open the lid, "interact" did not show and I had to reposition myself before it showed, naturally too late to open the lid.
Later I went back and tried again, another half hour then gave up.
They say perseverance reaps reward, well I tried once more and finally succeeded. I had gone around picking up ammo for the rifle and when I jumped to the lower platform I jumped at an angle and landed right by the valve. What a relief when she finally landed in the water.
Are you referring to the Wicked Vale area? The area where the boss fight took place is flooded
now and cannot be reached again.
What lucasj1210 is talking about is a document that is located in a high spot and you might have to use the grapple axe to reach it.
So that would be outside, possibly near the basecamp? or do I need to get onto that floating
shed thing again?
I will be amazed if the document that requires a spool and almost perfect timing doesn't make you want to scream with frustration.
The way you have to get it has changed from release. Originally you did not need to ride platforms.
So if you find a video without riding platforms it's the old way.
I think I made it once without it but that might have been the old way.
The document I am talking about is inside the witch area. Up high, above everything.
