Unable to high dive.
Some say hold down RMB as you jump, some say jump then click RMB, some say you must be standing still. I have tried all but nothing works.

Just run at the edge and just as you go over press and hold RMB but you have to time it carefully.

Press and hold during the upwards phase of your jump seems to work for the PS4 version. I assume PC will be no different.

Stand at the edge of the platform...Press W and Space together, then a split second after press RMB. That is for PC.

looking down at the water really really helps

I tried Misty Sun's suggestion. It did not work the first time. I then looked down as you suggested. That did the trick. Thanks.

Also, there's one particular high-dive starting from the waterfall outside of the observatory in the top-left of the map, which is bugged.

If you dive directly from the diving board, the game will continuously glitch into a regular jump and plunge, no matter the buttons pressed.

Jump off from the rocks directly left of the board instead and it'll work as expected, having Lara enter a dive as long as the correct buttons are pressed.

Run, or sprint to the edge, jump, then HOLD RMB. This work for me.

Pressing the correct keys at the correct times works, sometimes, but not always. I had to redo the dive until it worked.

You have to press and hold the button while your jump still has upward momentum and while there is a body of water directly below. Pressing too late, while you've lost upward momentum, fails and results in a normal jump and straight plunge. Pressing too early while there is still cliff-face straight below you, also fails.

This is why the dive board at the top of the long waterfall is bugged; it's positioned in such a way that it is nigh-impossible to be clear of the cliff-face and still have upward jump momentum left, because at a lower level the cliff extends outward below the board.

I know this thread is a little old. Just wanted to post that I was only able to complete the dive from the rocks just left and below the platform. None of the other suggestions here worked for me. I had no trouble at the other high dive locations.

No other suggestion works for me except this one. Thank you!!

A couple of years later and I can confirm as well. Thank you, both.
The high dive RiO Describes also unlocks the No guts, no glory achievement.
