when loading a game file click continue and then pick from your list of saves (not the 'last campfire save' that shows up at the top of the list.) if youre playing the hardest difficulty it may only load by campfire auto checkpoints but ive only played 2nd hardest (for that reason).
When you want to use that saved game...do not press 'Continue' but choose Load instead.
I always save my game when at a camp. That way you carrry on from where you left off.
I wanted to save while in combat with all those troops at the command center and beyond, nowhere near a camp fire. Occasionally a small "TR" sign would appear at bottom right but
in the darkness very difficult to notice. TR - what does it stand for?
Rise is "busy" when that icon appears. It could be "saving," "loading files needed for the next action," as I'm not sure exactly why it saves during non-save events.
For your information, you cannot manually save during combat. Even if the game did manage to save, you will always start at the point before the combat or after, depending where you saved during combat.
So TR does not necessary mean the game is auto saving? On leaving the game I am never sure where it will resume from the next time I play.(unless at a base camp)
