Parent/child account/family sharing

So I have my kids set up with child accounts, linked to my main steam account, and they access my game library using family sharing.
Will this work if I buy only one copy and use the friend code?

From my understanding of how family sharing works, YES! Because steam tracks copies owned of games, and the friend pass is TECHNICALLY a separate title and would be allowed to run.
