Wow, this feels so nostalgic! I remember a long time ago there were games similar to this, and I enjoyed playing them so much.

Does anyone remember the name of that game?

I think you are referring to Re-Volt. Great game.
It is available in steam. Watch out though, I seem to remember you had to do some external tweaking to play with friends.
It does not seem to be the same gameplay. This is a 2 player coop puzzle more like "We Were Here". Re-Volt was racing with power ups, more like "Donkey Kong Racing".

The image of the game reminds me of those old games, but this one is a 2-player co-op puzzle game, right? I understand now.
And it still looks fun!
